So, what’s croaking??

Looks a lot more spacious and still retaining the rustic, lay-back feel!

Holla to our new office!!!
A lot of effort has been put into the construction of this office by the Big Boss himself!!!
Yes! No need for contract workers yo! All by our handy dandy boss and his workers!
*BIG ROUND OF A APPLAUSE*

Other than the physical changes at the farm,

This is what we’ve been up to for the first half of the year (and we are still perfecting it)!
We are almost there! SO get ready for the big launch!

Aside from developing and value adding the local product,

Tours are still ongoing with added-value packages to cater to different needs!
I always feel so proud of the kids when they are braver than the adults when it comes to handling the frogs!
Hahaha!
FG: “Let’s recap! Tell me how do you tell the difference between the daddy frog and the mummy frog?”
Kid: *Raise hands* “The daddy has to listen to the mummy frog”
Teachers:*Laugh out loud*
Hahahaha!
Such an attentive student! =D

Last but not the least of the above changes, we have welcome a new resident to the farm!

After putting up this picture, I thought of a name already!

Lastly, if you’ve read the previous post, we are trying to utilise every part of the frog and thus, started with it’s skin! Let me present to you what I’ve been sporting these few days,

We’ll be starting a fashion trend soon!

We had our first meeting at APS on the 22/5/12 where Desmond introduced this idea of using Frog skin as a material for ornaments or really any products which is limited only by the sky! There were 4 teenage  boys who attended this session and they stared wide-eyed at this prospect. They listened very attentively to each step of the making and were given a piece of Frog Skin each at the end of the 2 hours long session to think about the possibilities during their June holiday!

The following Monday, we met up again at APS to execute these possibilities. Despite having only 1student out of 4 who turned up,  the teachers, volunteers, caregivers and myself were still in high sprirts about this endeavour!! We went on to scour for materials and ended up convincing each other to surrender our personal belongings like glasses, shoes, iphone casings for our experiment!

At the end of that session, we saw how not just the student, but the teachers themselves were much enthused and bemused with the prospect of integrating frog skin with their personal belongings. The synergy of the group was amazing as everyone posed for pictures with their newly value added creations out of old belongings which might very likely might have been thrown away. Kudos to Mr Desmond, who’s absolutely selfless with his knowledge and know-how.

I like that optimism! That frog did not only just hang in there but also cleverly adapted by camouflaging itself against that backdrop. That combination of adaptability and tenacity is that very life skill which our younger generations should adopt.

It was an interesting experience talking to about 30 students from The Hotel School this morning. Many stared wide eyed at the mention of the thousands of frogs we sell for food, more gasps when I spoke about how some parts of the frogs are harvested for other valuable ingredients! Had a great time and memory hosting about 25 of them last year in Singapore. Hope more of them will sign up for this exchange programme to learn about how the Singapore farms are branding themselves!
